JLT CAI FTW!!

Post by Dominican7 on Thu May 22, 2014 9:13 am

Got it in yesterday

I called in and was able to talk to Wendy at JLT who was very helpful.  I asked her if I can get the GT heat shield replaced with a Mach 1 heat shield.  I told her about the fact that I have an OEM Mach 1 hood and shaker on my GT and didn't want to pay an extra $40.00 for the heat shield which they offered separately on their site.  They came through for me and switched the part out and shipped it Tuesday and got it Wednesday.

Here are some pics of it before install.  I also got the CAI tube painted to match.

Here are the pictures installed.  I need to tweak the shaker a bit but it works and looks great.

The Mach 1 heat shield fit like a glove.

It's hard to see from the pictures, but is there a hole in the inside fender right where the filter sits?  as in, does that cover over the filter help draw in outside air?

Yes, it draws from the fender and the shaker...

Awesome, I wasn't completely sure how the ram air worked, if it also drew in from the fender

That's why the heat shield is important.  It minimizes that hot air from the engine bay from being sucked into the CAI.
