Need some digital slr help.

Post by Big-B on Sun Feb 10, 2013 2:42 am

OK, I know there are some camera freaks here. Maybe someone can help me out
I have a Nikon D70 that was my dads. Problem I'm having is indoor pics are dark. Whether I'm using the built in flash on one on the hot shoe. Went to a bike show today, here are 2 pics the same, the first w/ my camera

And one from my buddies camera. It's a new Cannon of some kind. Both cameras are on auto settings.

any thoughts?

Long shot, but some cameras have auto settings for different situations: indoors, outdoors, snow, landscapes, portraits, etc.

Aperture priority mode can help.

Also, on some cameras the ISO setting can be incorrect, even in "auto" mode. Don't know about the D70.

That said, learning to use some of the manual features is ultimately the way to go. Hope this helps.
