Sandy....aftermath...

Post by ndnboy on Tue Oct 30, 2012 1:53 pm

Hope everyone from our MPSF family is safe today after our date with Sandy. If anyone needs anything post up, u may be able to get some help from any local members. Power stayed on in the Dena area but I know that Arnold was out.

If you have any pics from your local spots post up and share, dont think they will compare to the NYC area and hope they are all minor issues, be safe....

Couple of trees down, power went out last night, some water damage to one of our walls. Nothing major though which is nice. Our neighbor's small tree started to uproot and lean over our Edge, i moved it 15 mins before the tree fell over.

Minor issues in Carroll County. Heavy rain and incredible winds pummelled our exposed house on a hill, but power only went out for 6 hours, and some minor basement flooding that isn't likely ever again (right?!?!). The news said most of Maryland dodged a major bullet, but that snow in Garrett snarled the highways. BGE was out within an hour of the power outage, and I was impressed with their rate of outages relieved...

All was well in my neighborhood of the Dena as well.
I know Will lost power which is why he can't post up to say so.

I had no issues in iJAMsville. No loss of power or anything like that. Had a small drip from the roof by the chimney stack but other than that, it was extra time off of work!

No major issues in my area (catonsville/baltimore). A little water in the basement and it seems I have a small leak in my roof but considering it handled high winds and five inches of rain I think it held up well for a 92 year old house.

We did just fine in Fredericksburg! Wind gusts were only in the mid to upper 30s and we got nearly 5" of rain, but other than a lot of leaves and a few limbs laying around, we suffered no power outages or leaks. Glad most of the gang here made it through with minimal to no damage!
