I really should have known better....

Post by dtb147 on Fri Jan 06, 2012 10:43 am

My wife has been bugging me for a long time to trade our Jetta in on something automatic so she could drive. The plan then is to get a second vehicle for myself that has a little more utility like an SUV or truck.... I gave in yesterday and we went down to the dealer where we get the Jetta serviced.

Long story short, I did everything wrong and wound up paying way more than I should have for our new car and I've spent the last 18 hours feeling like an idiot.

Sorry. Just wanted to vent a little.

So we don't know the new vehicle, the year of your old Jetta or the price you paid or anything. . .

$7,000 is a strong trade in amount for a Jetta! look and see for yourself what others are selling for.

So strong trade in is good! Did you pay sticker price on the 2010 mazda? if not then I doubt it was such a bad deal.

$23788. I have no idea what the sticker price is/was. It was one of those deals where they put a monthly payment estimate on all the cars and never tell you what the actual price is til the end of it all.

Values I see for the car top out around $19500. I don't know why I didn't press them on the price... or look it up on the damn phone. That's why I feel like an idiot.

Ah I see your point now! Live and learn from this buying experience but don't let it ruin the excitement of owning a new/newer car! "fool me once ...shame on ...you fooled me cant get fooled again" I believe is what GWB said lmao. But anyways they may have screwed you but word of mouth will screw them!

Seriously enjoy the car!
