Story Time With Uncle Ned

Post by Henny Penny on Fri Jun 17, 2011 6:35 am

Okay ya'll gather around, find a seat anywhere ya can....yes james you can sqeeze in next to me....no not on my lap, Uncle Ned has a bad knee. Okay we all in? Alrighty then, this is alittle story that you other convertible owners may relate too and find sad, but you "hardshell" owners will find sooo effing funny that the next time that you see another conv. flyby with that smug look on their face and as the wind blows through their hair and the ladies skirts blow up in the air...oh you'll just laugh.
It's this past Sunday I just finished up cleaning up the car it's a beautifull day ,the suns out , low humidy, and the wife is headed into work.....Ahhh a blessed day indeed. I have a rehearsel in Woodlawn at 1:00, so I fold down the top, put the boot into place and put my drum into the backseat, ( the drum is a $700 rope tension bassdrum in a soft case ..so it just fits back there). At 12:15 I roll out of Pasadena and head around the beltway. As i'm coming up to I95 I can see some graying in the skies to the northwest..."no pro-blamo" says I and I keep gettin it. Ed stop squriming around! The 1st raindrop it the windshield at Fredrick Rd. .... nah it's only a drop lets keep going ,plus I'm in the fastlane doing 65.....Well ya'll have probably figured out where this story is heading.... The effing skies opened with such a drenching downpore that images of animals pairing up in twos along the side of the road started to appear. I'm passing over route 40 and i"m just flying, because as long as you're moving you will stay dry in the front seat.so I know that there is an overpass coming up so I cut over to the shoulder (now doing 75) and come to a quick stop beneath the Crosby Rd. bridge. Besides myself there is another conv. and a couple on a motorcycle. We all stared laughing at each other, I got out and removed the boot, got out my towels dried somethings off and put up the roof. I was only 1 exit away (Security Blvd) so it was a short ride to our rehearsel site. Once i arrived ....yes the sun was back out, I put the top back down and commensed to dry everything off. There was do damage to either the car or drum.....but it wasn't the first time and i sure it won't be the last, but it was definetly the worst......so haha on me , and I hope that you all found this amussing. Now James get up you'ved made my leg fall asleep and i gotta pee....anyone need a beer while I'm up?

I cant keep still that long Uncle Ned, you know how long winded you are and James, Chris is right, leave Uncle Ned alone, It's taking way too much time away that you could put to good use pounding on Chris ROTFL
