***FS: 2001 Mustang GT***

Post by Tonk on Mon Jan 19, 2009 4:33 pm

I'm selling my 2001 Mustang GT. There's nothing wrong with the car itself, but I need something with more headroom. I purchased the car in April 2007 with 83,159 miles on it.

$6,500 asking price.

111,000 miles
4.6L V8 engine
Manual transmission
Yellow exterior
Black leather interior
Fully loaded, including:
- power windows, locks, steering, brakes, and power driver's seat
- traction control
- MACH sound system with 6-disc in dash cd changer
- Bullitt style wheels
- air conditioning

Never been in an accident. Carmax checked the vehicle over and marked every item in all four categories (Interior, Exterior, Mechanical, and Structural) as in good condition and I can provide the paperwork to show this.

Clutch was just replaced 3,000 miles ago and the oil has been changed with synthetic blend every 3,000 miles. Tires were replaced about 12,000 miles ago and have about 50% tread left.

Car is in great shape. The paint has a couple tiny imperfections but no scratches, rust, etc.

No, no project car. I'm getting a Honda fit. It's roomy as hell, gets twice the gas mileage, $400 less a year on insurance, cheaper maintenance, cheaper tires, etc etc etc. Overall I'm going to be saving a lot of money!

I'm sad to see the Mustang go but I have other priorities right now.

When a drunk driver totaled my younger son's 2004 Mustang a few months back, he ended up getting a new Honda Fit. The car IS amazingly roomy, and of course, very fuel efficient. He seems happy with it.

Good luck with the sale--that's a beautiful color.

Did you put anything on the car that you are now selling?

She is pretty...That color is hot, I don't see her being on the market too long.

Good Luck

Good Luck

The only things I did to it was the Mach 1 front lip and a K&N intake, which isn't even worth taking off and selling. I hope it sells fast, I want a new car!

You should try listing it on eBay! I sold my Camaro on eBay a couple of years ago, and got more $ than I expected.

I actually had the same result with Ebay when I sold my Neon a few years ago, I got more than I was expecting. But I don't see any Mustangs similar to mine going for what i want. My deadline to have the car sold is the end of April, so if I don't have it sold by April 1 I'll put it on Ebay. Thanks for the suggestion!

I feel the $6,500 is a fair price, but make me an offer and we'll go from there.
